Version 2.15 Newsletter

Updated over a week ago

When I started building Hedy, one of the first questions I got from European users was: "Where is my data stored?" It's a fair question. If you're using an AI tool during sensitive business conversations, medical appointments, or coaching sessions, you should know exactly where that information lives.

Until now, the honest answer was the US. That changes with version 2.15. New European users can now keep their conversation data on servers in Europe, and existing users can route their AI processing through EU infrastructure. For a tool that listens to your most important conversations, this felt like a requirement, not a nice-to-have.

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί EU Data Residency

New users in Europe can now choose to store their conversation data on EU servers during account setup. When they choose EU, everything related to their conversations (sessions, transcripts, topics, highlights, chat history) is stored and processed on servers in Europe. Even if you don't use Cloud Sync and keep your data locally, your AI analysis is also routed through EU-based servers when your region is set to EU.

Existing users can route all AI analysis through EU-based servers by setting their data protection region to EU in Account Settings β†’ Privacy Preferences. Your existing stored data doesn't move, but all AI processing going forward happens on EU servers. If you want full EU storage on top of that, you can create a new account with the EU region selected and reach out to us to transfer your license. We're also looking into options for migrating existing account data to EU servers, so stay tuned on that front.

🀝 Negotiation Session Type

Our newest session type is built for negotiations. Whether you're discussing contract terms with a vendor, negotiating a salary, or working through a partnership deal, Hedy now provides coaching tailored specifically to negotiation dynamics.

During the conversation, you'll get suggestions focused on leverage points, concession strategy, and questions that help you understand the other side's priorities. Afterward, your summary and notes are structured around what was agreed, what's still open, and recommended next steps.

Select "Negotiation" from the session type picker before your next negotiation to try it out.

⏰ 120-Minute Automatic Suggestions (Pro)

Pro users now get automatic suggestions for up to 120 minutes per session, double the previous 60-minute limit. For those longer strategy sessions, board meetings, or all-day workshops, Hedy stays with you through the full conversation.

πŸ–₯️ Hedy 3.0 Preview on macOS

We're working on a redesign of the Hedy interface focused on improving the desktop experience, and macOS users can get an early look. The Hedy 3.0 preview is available now on Mac, giving you a first glimpse at the new design direction. This is still a work in progress, but we'd love your feedback as we continue refining it.
