Hedy Background Operation Optimization Guide

If you are having trouble running Hedy in the background, here are some tips to troubleshoot your device settings.

For All Android Devices

Basic Permissions

  1. Long-press Hedy app icon > App info

  2. Tap Permissions > Enable:

    1. Microphone

    2. Notifications

    3. Display over other apps (“Always on top”)

Battery Optimization

  1. Settings > Apps > Hedy > Battery

  2. Set to Unrestricted

  3. Disable:

    1. “Adaptive battery”

    2. “Put unused apps to sleep”

Recent Apps Lock

  1. Open Recent Apps list

  2. Long-press Hedy’s preview > Lock this app (🔒 icon)

Special Instructions for Samsung Devices

Samsung requires additional configuration through Device Care:

Add to Never Sleeping Apps

  1. Settings > Battery > Background usage limits

  2. Tap Never sleeping apps

  3. Press ➕ and select Hedy

Disable Auto Optimization

  1. Settings > Battery > More battery settings

  2. Disable Auto optimization

  3. Disable Adaptive battery

For Other Manufacturers

Xiaomi (MIUI)

  1. Settings > Apps > Hedy > Battery saver

  2. Set to No restrictions

  3. Disable Auto-start for other apps

OnePlus/Oppo

  1. Settings > Battery > App management

  2. Select Hedy > Enable:

    1. Auto-launch

    2. Background freeze (disable)

Final Checks

  1. Restart your device after configuration

  2. Verify Hedy’s notification remains persistent

  3. Test background operation with screen off for 5+ minutes

Troubleshooting Tip: If issues persist, disable any third-party battery saver apps or “RAM boost” features that might conflict with system settings.

This configuration ensures Hedy maintains continuous background operation while complying with Android 14’s power management requirements. Settings paths are accurate for One UI 6+/Android 14 as of 2025 device models.
