Hedy makes capturing your conversations simple, but understanding the nuances of starting and ending sessions can help you get the most out of your AI assistant.

Starting a New Session

  1. Prepare Your Device

    • Ensure your device is fully charged

    • Unpair any headphones or other devices that could block the microphone

    • Position device for optimal audio capture

  2. Launch Hedy

    • Open the Hedy app

    • Select your meeting type

    • Verify language settings

  3. Start Recording

    • Tap the Hedy icon to begin your session

    • Wait for the recording indicator to confirm start

Pro Tip: You can do a quick audio test before important meetings by checking the transcript to ensure Hedy can hear clearly.

Session Duration Limits

  • Free Tier: Limited to 60 minutes per month

  • Pro Tier: Unlimited session duration

Session tracking for free accounts:

  • Watch the time tracker at the top of the app as you approach your monthly limit

  • Can you upgrade to Pro during a session for uninterrupted recording

Ending Your Session

  1. Manual Ending

    • Tap the stop button in the Hedy app

    • Confirm you want to end the session

    • Wait for processing to complete

  2. Post-Session Options

    • Review transcript

    • Have Hedy generate detailed notes

    • View highlights

    • Share session details

Handling interruptions: If Hedy gets interrupted during a session, such as by an incoming phone call, you can return to Hedy afterwards and it will continue to capture the conversation. This feature is available starting in version 1.10.
