Write personal notes during or after any Hedy session using the built-in rich-text editor. Your notes auto-save as you type and are shared with Hedy's AI to improve summaries, detailed notes, and chat responses.
Getting Started
Open any session (live or completed)
Navigate to the Notes tab
Start typing
On desktop, the Notes tab opens by default for live sessions. On mobile, swipe to the Notes tab from the session view.
Formatting Options
The toolbar at the top of the editor provides:
Bold, Italic, and Underline for text emphasis
Bullet lists and numbered lists for organizing points
Timestamp insertion (live sessions only): Tap the timestamp button to insert the current recording time in [MM:SS] format, marking a specific moment in the conversation
Auto-Save
Notes save automatically 2 seconds after you stop typing. A status indicator in the toolbar shows:
Saving... while your notes are being saved
Saved when the save completes
If you switch apps or minimize Hedy, any pending changes are saved immediately so nothing is lost.
AI Integration
Your session notes are shared with Hedy's AI to produce better results. When Hedy generates a summary, detailed notes, or responds in chat, it uses your notes as additional context alongside the transcript.
This is especially useful for adding information the AI can't capture from audio alone:
Visual content from presentations or whiteboards
Participant names and roles
Corrections to the transcript
Your own observations or reactions
A character counter in the toolbar shows how much of your notes the AI can use (up to 5,000 characters). You can write longer notes, but content beyond the limit won't be included in AI analysis.
Pro tip: For meetings with presentations, jot down key slides or visual content as notes. This gives Hedy context it can't get from audio, resulting in much more complete summaries.

Detailed Notes: AI-generated comprehensive meeting minutes

Syncing Across Devices
If you have cloud sync enabled, your session notes sync across all your devices automatically. Changes made on one device appear on your other devices the next time you open the session.
